ART BRÜT feels more like a conceptual art project than a traditional perfume house, and honestly… that’s both its strength and its weakness.
The discovery set is beautifully curated and intellectually stimulating. The names, visuals and overall atmosphere create genuine curiosity and emotion. Some fragrances feel less like “perfumes” and more like moods, fragments of memories or abstract installations. I really appreciated that artistic ambition.
That said, the actual perfumery can be hit or miss depending on personal taste. A few scents felt fascinating at first but became a bit too conceptual, powdery or difficult to wear in real life. In some cases, the idea behind the fragrance was stronger than the fragrance itself.
Still, I would absolutely recommend the discovery set to anyone tired of mainstream perfumery and looking for something more experimental, emotional and unusual. Even when I didn’t fully love a scent, I enjoyed the experience of exploring it.
ART BRÜT may not create universally “beautiful” perfumes, but they definitely create conversation, atmosphere and personality. And nowadays, that already feels quite rare.
