Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are your fragrances twins?

The greatest asset is intellectual property. We develop our fragrances in close cooperation and exchange with our perfumers from Paris. All of our fragrances are exclusive in-house developments. We source our fragrances from independent and owner-managed perfume oil manufacturers from Grasse / France.

  • What does "Made in Europe" mean

We don't just love our fragrances. We also love Europe. Traveling without borders and without restrictions. Getting to know new people and their peculiarities. The most diverse influences, ways of thinking and perspectives. That's why we work with a wide variety of suppliers for our perfume components from Europe. From the lid from Poland to the bottle from Italy to the contents from France. We rely on transparent and, above all, cooperative supply chains.

  • Are your fragrances vegan?

    Yes! Without exception and certified.

  • Are you violating the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species?

No! Our fragrances are all free of ingredients from endangered plant species according to the CITES list.

  • Can I smell your fragrances offline?

We are already represented in some stores with offline branches. You can check here whether there is a store near you.

  • Why don’t you only use natural fragrances?

The use of synthetic and nature-identical fragrances is not just a question of faith. We believe that the combination of synthetic/nature-identical and natural fragrances brings the complexity of the perfumer's art to life. In our opinion, the complexity and purity of a fragrance concept and its implementation cannot be reproduced in pure nature. All of our ingredients are subject to strict European regulations and are covered by IFRA and are therefore absolutely harmless.

  • What is the IFRA?

The IFRA (International Fragrance Association) develops guidelines and standards for the safe use of fragrances in products such as perfumes, cosmetics, detergents, etc. It ensures that these fragrances are harmless to health and do not harm the environment.

  • durability of fragrances

Purely synthetic fragrances have the advantage that they can always be reproduced in the same way and also last a very long time. At ART BRÜT we rely on a harmonious mix of natural and synthetic fragrances. We mainly use natural fragrances, but they are naturally never as strong as synthetic ones.

We believe that fragrances must be designed to underline personality and not overpower it. Our fragrances are not designed to scent an entire train compartment, but rather to accompany the person wearing them.

The durability of a fragrance has nothing to do with the quality of the perfume. There are strong natural fragrances such as resins and light ones such as bergamot. The durability is always individual, depending on the fragrance. A sweet fragrance with synthetic vanillin and ambroxan and natural labdanum will always last much longer than a fresh, citrus fragrance with bergamot. This is due to the nature of the individual molecules of these fragrance notes.

  • Are synthetic ingredients worse?

Synthetic ingredients are an essential part of modern perfumery. They make it possible to create scents that do not exist in nature. Nature-identical and synthetic substances offer the possibility of replacing rare or protected natural fragrances. They are more stable, longer lasting and often much stronger. As is often the case in life, it is important to use them in moderation and with caution. We are so used to synthetic fragrances that the use of natural fragrances alone seems “not intense” enough. The challenge, however, is to create a fragrance that is unique in its development and appearance and that gently envelops the wearer. The excessive use of overly intense fragrances is not our approach and is not what we want.
